Role Overview: The Final Panel Assembly Setup position is responsible for the accurate and efficient mounting and wiring of electrical components onto control panels used in Final Assembly refrigeration and HVAC systems. This role requires strong attention to detail, the ability to interpret electrical drawings and schematics, and a commitment to delivering high-quality, production-ready panels.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Panel Assembly and Wiring

  • Mount and wire electrical components according to engineering drawings and wiring diagrams.
  • Identify and verify proper voltage sizes for contactors, transformers, and fuse boxes.
  • Label panels appropriately and ensure wiring is neat, secure, and follows standards.
  • Perform quality checks to ensure all components are properly installed and wired.

2. Documentation and Interpretation

  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and bills of material.
  • Discern correct wiring methods for various switch types.
  • Identify and differentiate between components including transformers, pressure switches, and contactors.

3. Workplace Safety and Cleanliness

  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment by adhering to all safety protocols and company procedures.
  • Report unsafe equipment or conditions to supervisors.

4. Team Collaboration and Support

  • Collaborate with team members to complete daily assignments and meet production targets.
  • Assist others as needed and support cross-functional work in Final Assembly.

5. General Manufacturing Duties

  • Complete tasks assigned by supervisors in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Charge time accurately in the timekeeping system.
  • Arrive on time and attend work as scheduled.
  • Participate in on-site training and follow all standard operating procedures.

6. Other Duties:

  • Complete any task as assigned by the supervisor as needed.
  • Clean the work area as required.

Desired Qualifications:

Education & Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Previous experience in electrical wiring, control panels, or HVAC-related assembly preferred.

Skills:

  • Ability to read electrical schematics and engineering drawings.
  • Basic Power Tooks (Drills, Impacts)
  • Basic math skills, including reading a tape measure to 1/16 of an inch.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work independently and follow directions without constant supervision.

Certificates, Licenses, or Training:

  • On-site training provided; previous electrical or HVAC-related training preferred.

Interaction with Others: Reports to Final Assembly Supervisor. Must be able to accurately receive, understand, and follow instructions from the supervisor. It is essential that the employee can work with all employees of the RAE team and show a spirit of cooperation with others in the organization. To accomplish this teamwork, it is important that the employee can get along well with coworkers and be willing to ask and to answer questions as needed.

Working Environment: Work is performed in an industrial production area for a manufacturer of refrigeration and HVAC equipment. The employee is constantly exposed to moving mechanical parts and vehicles. The noise level in the work environment is high in some areas. Exposed to extreme temperatures in both winter and summer. Possible stress is caused by the pressure of meeting deadlines and product quality standards. Seasonal variations in hours worked based on production demands.
