Technician III - Properties

Position Overview

GRDA is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Technician – Properties level III at its Transmission headquarters location near Pryor, OK. The position is responsible for facility repair, maintenance, and construction as well as other duties as assigned.

Essential job functions include, but are not limited to:

  • Install different types of flooring.

  • Install Drywall, apply joint compound and paint.

  • Pour and finish concrete.

  • Weld and fabricate when needed.

  • Operate heavy equipment such as a Man lift, Dump Truck, Skid Loader with attachments, or other equipment used in the construction, repair, or maintenance of GRDA facilities.

  • Attend and participate in monthly safety meetings and training classes.

  • Use safety procedures when performing assigned task.

  • Ability to work around high voltage when working in and around substations.

  • Ability to work at various heights.

Skills, Knowledge, Qualities:

  • Familiar with tools used in the carpentry trade.

  • Knowledge of Safety rules and procedures associated with construction.

  • Organizational and Communicative skills.

  • Cabinet building

  • Concrete finishing

  • Requirement at this level consist of technical skills to perform routine tasks.

  • Basic computer skills for email and online training.

Education, Training, Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Minimum of 4 years’ experience in the construction/carpentry trade

Certificates, Registrations, Licenses:

  • Valid Oklahoma driver’s license, or the ability to convert within 30 days for those with an out of state driver’s license that are an Oklahoma resident.

  • Commercial driver’s license a plus, but not a requirement

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to walk, climb stairs, crawl, work from ladders and elevated platforms.

  • Ability to lift, move and carry weights of up to 80 lb. on a regular basis.

  • Must possess mental, visual, and auditory acuity for attention to visual and auditory detail.

  • Self-motivated

Environmental Conditions & Safety Concerns:

  • Work location ranges from an office environment to outdoors and/or indoors in high noise/high temperature environment. Travel to various facilities.
