The Alternative Education Recruitment and Retention Specialist will develop and implement strategies to increase enrollment into the Alternative Education GED/HSE program, and oversee retention efforts of clients currently enrolled in the GED/HSE program, but not progressing on their individual employment plan's education objectives. The Recruitment and Retention Specialist will coordinate GED/HSE community outreach efforts with the Supervisor of Alternative Education. The Recruitment and Retention Specialist will oversee student correspondence, progress, and address barriers with Alternative Education clients that are completing their GED/HSE preparation primarily through online platforms.
Qualifications
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENT
Bachelor's degree from a 4-year college or university; no substitutions.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT
At least two (2) years of experience in a related field.
COMPUTER SKILLS
To perform this job successfully, an individual should know database software and spreadsheet software.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Must possess a valid driver's license with a driving history verified through a motor vehicle report that meets the requirements for Cherokee Nation underwriting rating.
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS
The employee must not be and will not be under sanction by the United States Department of Health and Human Services Office of the Inspector General (OIG) or by the General Services Administration (GSA) or listed on the OIG's Cumulative Sanction Report, or the GSA's List of Excluded Providers, or listed on the OIG's List of Excluded Individuals/Entities (LEIE).
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit, use hand to finger, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit and walk. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include color vision.
