GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The Parent Educator recruits families for participation in home visiting program. They coordinate and conduct child assessments and home visits using specified curriculum and assessment tools. The Parent Educator collaborates with schools and community organizations to support family education efforts.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS
- One-year certificate from a college or technical school; or one and one-half (1 ½) years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience in Child Development, Early Childhood, Education, Psychology, Social Work, or related field.
- At least one (1) year of experience in a related field.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear; to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Must possess a valid driver’s license with a driving history verified through a motor vehicle report that meets requirements for Cherokee Nation underwriting rating.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
The employee must not be and will not be under sanction by the United States Department of Health and Human Services Office of the Inspector General (OIG) or by the General Services Administration (GSA) or listed on the OIG's Cumulative Sanction Report, or the GSA's List of Excluded Providers, or listed on the OIG's List of Excluded Individuals/Entities (LEIE).
May be required to meet and maintain pre-employment and periodic background investigation and adjudication for childcare.
