The ideal candidates for the Site Safety Manager position in Pryor, Oklahoma will be responsible for enforcing company safety, health and environmental policies. This role oversees leads, directs and enforces safety and work practices on construction project sites to identify, eliminate and control hazardous conditions that may lead to injury and/or property damage using job specific safety standards, best management practices and injury free environment techniques.
What You’ll Do:
- Make decisions related to work stoppage when circumstances are related to an immediate danger to life and health on a project
- Recommend and implement corrective action based on policies, guidelines and procedures
- Investigate and resolve issues on behalf of Batchelor & Kimball
- Communicate with project staff and subcontractors in connection with resolving field safety issues
- Provide leadership on the project and build working relationships with project staff and subcontractors
- Enforce safe work practices and safe working conditions in accordance with all State, Federal, Local regulations, and owner/contractual requirements
- Educate and advise project staff on safety guidelines and policies
- Manage all injuries on his/her project, must accompany worker to medical clinic and be present at all follow up treatments
- Takes measures and implements the overall site safety program as required and ensures subcontractor compliance with Manhattan standards and all applicable safety codes and regulations
- Contribute to the development of the overall project safety program
- Conduct training and safety meetings
- Evaluate need for training and make recommendations
- Conduct safety audits
What you’ll need (minimum qualifications):
- OSHA 500 certification or CHST
- Computer knowledge and efficiency, including Microsoft Office products
- Ability to work constructively independently
- Good time management and organizational skills
- Ability to understand and follow instructions
- Functions effectively as part of a team
- Transmits professionalism
- Problem solving skills
Good to have:
- Bachelor’s Degree- Safety and Health, Construction Management or equivalent
- Three years of experience on large construction projects
