*SAFETY SENSITIVE POSITION*

Employee must be self-motivated and be able to work off of written instruction and sketches with minimal supervision to do simple repairs to core boxes and patterns. Use various machinery and tools to repair patterns. Use compressed air to clean patterns, hoist to move pattern pieces and a forklift to move patterns. Experience and general safety working knowledge of the use of a drill press, band saw, table saw and radial arm saw experience preferred. Ability to work closely with pattern shop employees and employees in other areas of the foundry. Employee will be required to furnish a variety of small hand tools, such as wrenches, screw drivers, pliers, socket set and some precision measuring instruments that are used in the daily routine of the pattern shop. Must be able to do Pattern Setup position with little to no assistance. This position may be classified as a lead person which will perform job duties as assigned. Keep work area clean and orderly. Know safety rules that apply to the safety of others and to personal safety. Report malfunction of equipment to proper authority. Perform other work and duties as needed and as instructed by supervisor. Participate in regularly scheduled safety meetings and toolbox talks. Interact with and be accountable to supervisors regarding safe work behaviors and developing safety knowledge and job skills. Aid in accident investigations as needed. Set an example for safe behavior and show commitment to safety.
