This role is responsible for welding, assembling, repairing, and modifying metal components used in industrial manufacturing. The position supports production by interpreting technical drawings, preparing materials, completing welds to quality standards, and helping ensure safe and efficient shop operations.Key Responsibilities

- Perform welding work using established procedures and production specifications.
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and work instructions.
- Prepare materials and components through grinding, drilling, cutting, tapping, and related fabrication steps.
- Set up and use welding and fabrication equipment safely and correctly.
- Weld in multiple positions, including flat, vertical, and overhead, as needed.
- Inspect completed work and identify defects or quality issues.
- Support assembly, repair, and modification of metal parts or finished units.
- Monitor equipment condition and report performance or safety concerns.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least 2 years of welding experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment.
- Ability to read and work from blueprints and technical drawings.
- Working knowledge of shop safety practices and welding tools/equipment.
- Formal welding training or certification.
- Experience welding aluminum.
- Experience in heavy industrial or equipment manufacturing.
- Exposure to quality systems or process-based manufacturing environments.
- Strong attention to detail and workmanship.
- Ability to maintain weld quality and dimensional accuracy.
- Problem-solving skills related to weld quality and equipment issues.
- Good time management and ability to meet production deadlines.
- Adaptability in working with different materials, methods, and job requirements.
- Commitment to workplace safety.
- Manufacturing/shop setting.
- Exposure to noise, dust, fumes, moving equipment, and non-climate-controlled conditions may occur.
- Use of personal protective equipment may be required depending on the task.
- Frequent standing, walking, lifting, pushing, pulling, and repetitive motion.
- Regular use of hands and arms for handling materials and tools.
- May require bending, crouching, climbing, twisting, and reaching.
- Ability to lift moderate to heavy materials as part of normal job duties.
- Close vision and color differentiation may be needed for inspection and welding tasks.
