This role supports maintenance and project teams across facility repairs, construction, and turnaround work, with a strong focus on assisting and operating heavy equipment when trained. You’ll help keep projects moving by handling materials, supporting equipment operations, and assisting with basic mechanical tasks while building skills toward a Maintenance Apprentice role.What You’ll Do:
- Assist maintenance staff by gathering tools, parts, and supplies.
- Support project work including facility repairs, construction, and turnaround activities.
- Operate or assist with heavy equipment (forklifts, skid steers, telehandlers, pallet jacks) when trained/certified.
- Perform supervised tasks using hand tools (tightening fasteners, dismantling equipment, basic mechanical support).
- Load, move, and stage materials using equipment or manual handling.
- Follow lockout/tagout (LOTO) and all safety procedures.
- Maintain clean, safe, and organized work areas.
- Remove and properly dispose of non-hazardous debris and materials.
- Support site readiness and cleanup for ongoing and completed projects.
- Monday–Friday, daytime schedule; occasional weekends as needed.
- Availability between 6:00 AM and 5:00 PM for 8–10 hour shifts (start times vary by project).
- Starting pay: $17–$19 per hour DOE.
- Merit increases during probationary period; opportunity for full-time hire.
- OSHA-10 certification (preferred; provided if needed).
- PPE provided (steel-toe boots required by employee).
- On-the-job training with maintenance and equipment operations.
- Career path into Maintenance Apprentice or Equipment Operator roles.
- Routine standing, walking, bending, and reaching.
- Frequent lifting up to 25 lbs; occasional lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Work in warehouse, manufacturing, and construction environments.
- Exposure to noise, dust, and varying temperatures.
- Work performed under supervision of trained personnel.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- 6+ months experience with heavy equipment (forklift, skid steer, telehandler) preferred but not required.
- Willingness to learn equipment operation and maintenance skills.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
- Ability to work in fast-paced, team-oriented environments.
- Basic familiarity with tools and equipment is a plus.
